How does OnePlaceMail check for duplicate emails in a library?

Scenario:

If three users get the same email and user #1 files the email to a SharePoint site.

What effect does this have on user #2 and #3?  How will they know the file has been already filed to SP?

Answer:

OnePlaceMail will do duplicate checking to make sure the same email cannot be uploaded to the same location in SharePoint multiple times. This is based on the file name format we use for emails being transferred to SharePoint.

Please refer to our Administration guide for more details on this (section Customizing the email filename format):

In summary, the default filename format uses the emails subject + email sender and email sent date/time to determine - so if they match a duplicate will be detected as would be the case if the same email was sent to multiple recipients and each one transferred the email to the same location. The user will be told the file already exists in SharePoint.
