The following provides the best practice guide for enterprise deployments of the OnePlace Solutions desktop software.

1. Download Software

Download the required .msi files for OnePlaceMail & OnePlaceDocs in preparation for packaging

 

2. Email Columns

To capture and promote email attributes when saving emails and attachments to SharePoint the appropriate SharePoint columns should be created.

The email columns are standard SharePoint columns. The below PnP script will assist with the creation of these columns.

 

3. Central Administration

All configuration of the OnePlace Solutions software is centrally managed in SharePoint.

A standard site collection is to be created with 3 lists to store configuration settings. The below PnP script will assist with the creation of the site collection.

 

4. Licensing

Licensing of the OnePlace Solutions desktop software (R7.x) is centrally managed in a SharePoint list.

1. Browse to the OnePlace Solutions Administration site - created in the step above
2. Locate the license list on the quick launch of the administration site
3. Complete steps 3 & 4 of OnePlace Solutions licensing

 

5. Central Configuration

All configurations of OnePlace Solutions desktop software is centrally managed and stored in the OnePlace Solutions Administration site.

Connect to the central configuration site by launching the OnePlaceLive client application from your desktop.

6. Solution Profiles (optional)

Solution profiles provide a powerful way to personalize SharePoint solutions to help drive greater adoption.

7. Package and Deploy

OnePlace Solutions provides msi files for packaging and deploying the desktop software

1. Download the relevant .MSI files for your environment
2. Confirm all pre-requisites have been deployed to your environment
3. Package the .msi files for deployment with appropiate switches

Note: The OnePlaceLive Administration client software only needs to be installed on Administrator desktops (not to all end users)
