Email Tracking Service

Email Tracking is a service which extends the use of OnePlaceMail across the enterprise to provide visibility around what emails your colleagues have already saved to SharePoint.

The service supports Exchange 2013 (and above) on-premise and Office 365 environments. End users will see a 'Transferred to SharePoint' category in Outlook for emails saved to SharePoint.

Prerequisites - Exchange Online

  • Windows Server 2012 and above
  • Microsoft .NET 4.5.2 or higher
  • Network connectivity to Exchange Online

Pre-requisites - Exchange On-Premises

  • Windows Server 2012 and above
  • Microsoft .NET 4.5.2 or higher
  • Network connectivity to Exchange 2013 / 2016

Supported environments

  • Exchange Online (Office 365)
  • Exchange 2013 or above

Notes

The server cannot be load balanced. It can only be installed on one server.

If geographic regions are a consideration, the service can be installed and configured on a different server - separately connecting to a different service mailbox.

Client machines can then be configured to send transaction emails to the appropriate service mailbox.
