Licensing

The OnePlace Solutions suite of products is licensed on a named user basis.  Each OnePlace Solutions client installation references a central list (License list URL) in sharePoint/Office 365 (containing the central license key) to access/manage licensing.

The following steps detail how to create and attach the license key to your SharePoint environment and how to reference the central license list from your client application.

warning

All installations of OnePlace Solutions Release 7.0 and above (including upgrades from previous releases) require the creation of a new license list and generation of a new license key.

Licensing OnePlace Solutions suite

when using the OnePlace Solutions sandbox solution

If you've installed the OnePlace Solutions sandbox solution, the resulting SharePoint site includes a license list.

You can skip Step 1: Create license list and proceed to Step 2: locate the list ID for this list

When creating your own license list

You can create your own license list in SharePoint/Office 365 as required.  The list should be crated in a location accessible to all users.  If you have a hybrid (SharePoint on-premise/Office 365) environment, you may like to consider placing the license list in Office 365 where it will always be available for connection.

Please create a license list and locate the list ID for this list,

tip

Users must have contributor permissions to the license list, allowing for automatic tracking and allocation of user licenses.  Alternatively, license entries can be entered into the license list manually or via an alternate manner (in the correct format) allowing OnePlace Solutions to recognize the user in the list and therefore meaning the user will only require reader access.
