The following provides the best practice guide for enterprise deployments of the OnePlace Solutions software.

OnePlace Solutions Desktop

 Download the required .msi files for OnePlaceMail & OnePlaceDocs in preparation for packaging

OnePlaceMail App

 Download OnePlaceMail App for Outlook from Microsoft AppSource

To capture and promote email attributes when saving emails and attachments to SharePoint the appropriate SharePoint columns should be created.

The email columns are standard SharePoint columns. The below PnP script will assist with the creation of these columns.

Microsoft 365 & SharePoint On-premises 2019 | 2016 | 2013

Select the following options

  1. Deploy email site columns to sites via SharePoint PnP to your site collection: link
  2. Deploy email site columns to sites, via SharePoint PnP : create email content type, add these to defined document libraries, and create a view: link

Customize and Personalize

Customize the user experience for OnePlace Solutions Desktop and create dynamic Solution Profiles delivered to all users in the applications they work in.

Customize the user experience; re-label or hide buttons, deploy sites and turn on/off prompts.

  1. Create a OnePlace Solutions Administration Site

    1. SharePoint Online:

    2. SharePoint On-premises (2013, 2016, 2019)

All configurations of OnePlace Solutions desktop software is centrally managed and stored in the OnePlace Solutions Administration site.

  1. Connect to the central configuration site by launching the OnePlaceLive client application from your desktop.

Solution Profiles provide powerful options to personalize solutions built in Microsoft 365 to help drive greater adoption.

License & Deploy

OnePlace Solutions provides msi files for packaging and deploying the desktop software

  1. Download the relevant .MSI files for your environment
  2. Confirm all pre-requisites have been deployed to your environment
  3. Package the .msi files for deployment with appropriate switches
Note: The OnePlaceLive Administration client software only needs to be installed on Administrator desktops (not to all end users)

OnePlace Solutions Desktop requires permission to perform specific tasks in Microsoft 365. To prevent each user from being prompted for these permissions on first use, we recommend using the following link to provide consent to these permissions on behalf of users.

 

Using the Office Administration Center you can select to deploy the app to 'Everyone' or select specific users or groups.
