What's New in R7.0

Release 7.0 is a major release and is launched in conjunction with a change in our business name to OnePlace Solutions. OnePlaceMail is joined by two additional products called OnePlaceDocs and OnePlaceLive, collectively known as the OnePlace Solutions suite of products. 

Closed OnePlaceMail Release 7.0 comprises of installations for:

New Products

  1. OnePlaceDocs  (New product)
    • Adobe acrobat to SharePoint
    • Docs Explorer for SharePoint
    • Office to SharePoint integration 
  2. OnePlaceLive (New product)
    • Solution Profiles
    • Facility to publish configuration settings

Enhancements/ Notes

  1. Ability to automatically consume configuration updates deployed using OnePlaceLive service
  2. Ability to automatically consume solution profiles provided by the OnePlaceLive service
  3. Ability to interact with solution profiles in Outlook provided by the OnePlaceLive service
  4. Ability to configure the ‘Transferred to SharePoint’ email category to use a different category name
  5. Enhanced .msg preview embedded in Outlook to include support for graphics and links in html emails
  6. Support for more file types preview embedded in Outlook (images, text files)
  7. Ability to configure areas of OnePlaceMail to be in a local language
  8. Ability to associate an application with a file extension to always open with this application in the embedded view in Outlook
  9. Changed the default navigation tree type ahead filter type to 'contains' instead of 'starts with' in the embedded grid view
  10. The SDK has been temporarily disabled from 7.0 and will be available in an upcoming point release
  11. The free companion product OnePlaceMail Productivity Tools for Office has been removed from OnePlaceMail and has become part of the new OnePlaceDocs product
  12. The ‘Open’ button on the OnePlaceMail ribbon has changed to ‘Explore’ and is only available if you have a license for OnePlaceDocs

Bug Fixes

  1. BUG: Fixed issue with navigation tree and content search where the search service is on a different URL.
  2. BUG: Fixed issue where the SharePoint view selection drop down does not appear if the default view contains no items or if there is an issue loading content.
  3. BUG: Fixed ampersand issue in folder name if filing to Office 365.
  4. BUG: Fixed issue with mandatory people groups column that is suppressed from save to SharePoint dialog prevents a save to SharePoint.
  5. BUG: Fixed issue creating document set / folder with space at end of the name.
  6. BUG: Fixed issue with site columns added to site content types then added to a document library, then being suppressed by OnePlaceMail. This caused the columns to not have their default values set in SharePoint.
  7. BUG: Fixed issue with multiple authentication prompts for Office 365.
  8. BUG: Fixed issue with email conversation id being a single line of text column exceeding data limits. Changed column to be a multi-line text column.
  9. BUG: Fixed issue with location content SharePoint view category sorting not being adhered to.
  10. BUG: Fixed issue with embedded location content not showing content for SP2013 lists.
  11. BUG: Fixed issue with managed metadata columns not showing any selection values.
  12. Fixed issue with Unicode characters not being preserved when saving emails to SharePoint
