The following provides best practice guide for enterprise deployments, for OnePlace Solutions software

1: Download Software

Download the required .msi files for OnePlaceMail & OnePlaceDocs

 

2. Add Email columns to your site collections

To ensure that you capture email attributes when saving with OnePlaceMail, add the site columns to your site via Powershell.

  1. Select the following link for further instructions to install site columns using SharePoint Patterns & Practices (PNP)
  2. Add the site columns to your email content type
ClosedSharePoint 2010 users:

Please note, the above is not available for SharePoint 2010.

3: OnePlace Solutions Administration SharePoint Site

Upload and activate the OnePlaceLive solutions site. This will allow you to configure OnePlaceLive to create configuration profiles, solution profiles and email tracking.

  • Select the following link for further instructions to install the OnePlaceLive Site using SharePoint Patterns & Practices (PNP)

4: License OnePlace Solutions

  1. Locate the license list and obtain the list ID from the above License list within your OnePlace Solutions Administration site (See step 2)
  2. Complete steps 3 & 4 of OnePlace Solutions licensing

5: Define, Configure and Publish settings (optional)

Create/Define configurations

  1. Customize OnePlace Solutions to meet your business requirements. For example, add one or more connections to SharePoint sites, turn on/off prompts, customize buttons, etc..
  2. Save configuration settings to the OnePlace Solutions Administration site

 

6: Build your SharePoint Solutions

  1. Add the email columns to your existing content type/s or use the email content type provided
  2. Consider building one or more OnePlaceLive Solution Profiles

 

7: Deploying software

  1. Build your deployment package using the .msi files provided, using the recommend .msi switches to set the license location and OnePlace Solutions Administration site URL.
  2. Ensure pre-requisites have been installed
  3. Deploy the OnePlaceMail and OnePlaceDocs software (with the MSI switches)

Note: The OnePlaceLive Administration client software only needs to be installed on one or two client machines (i.e. Administrator machines)
