What's New in R7.3

Release 7.3 delivers some exciting enhancement across the suite of products including a new OnePlace Live Email Tracking Service, usability enhancements such as recent locations on Send and File to SharePoint.  The What's new below lists the other enhancement and bug fixes.

Enhancements

OnePlaceMail and OnePlaceDocs

  • SharePoint Lists and Libraries - improved compatibility with event receivers running
  • Title Column – size increase when in content grid views
  • File Upload Mechanism – improved slow connection, overcoming some common network layer issues
  • Item Properties - setting item properties in SharePoint now unified to a single and more modern technology (Client Side Object Model)
  • SharePoint Content View – when a view cannot be displayed due to SharePoint threshold limitations, the view will default to the ‘Content View’ if available (if it has no threshold issues). If there is no content view the ‘Explorer View’ will be displayed.
  • Numeric Values – now formatted and validated against regional settings when saving to SharePoint (or the users regional settings if they are set to take precedence in the SharePoint user profile)
  • Implementation of stronger SHA-256 code signing certificate

OnePlaceMail

  • New Ribbon Button - opens the SharePoint location where the email was saved

  • Email Send & File Button - now provides a drop-down of recent SharePoint locations

  • Memory Management – has been improved for copy/move/send to SharePoint actions

OnePlaceDocs

  • Uploading Read-Only Files - support added from network drives

OnePlaceLive

  • Email Tracking Feature*:

    • Labels emails with a category 'Transferred to SharePoint' across all recipients (and sender) of email

    • Ability to create a custom plug with the Email Tracking API e.g. extend additional properties on an email with plug-in, email analytics, etc...

            *This feature requires the installation of a OnePlace Email Tracking (Windows) Service on a Windows 2012 server

  • Configuration Service – now a free service and available to all OnePlace Solutions customers

Notes

  • .Net Framework – pre-requisite has been updated from 4.0 to 4.5.2
    • Requires upgrading server components (if they are currently being used)
  • The custom web service for deploying and applying configuration updates is deprecated (transition to the OnePlaceLive Configuration Service and the OnePlaceLive Solution Profiles Service).

 Bug Fixes

OnePlaceMail and OnePlaceDocs

  • Managed metadata column type-ahead - now returns terms when taxonomy store didn't have the users language available
  • Managed Metadata Column Name – issue resolved when creating document sets, custom folder and list items with a space in the column name
  • SharePoint view content - warning message now appears when a threshold limitation is encountere
  • Bootstrapper Installers - now supporting Office 2016 x64
  • Resolves issue when saving to SharePoint locations where the users language (in SharePoint user profile) is available for a site collection but is not the site collections default language
  • Saving Files to Custom SharePoint URLs – no longer gives a "ServerRelativeUrl Error" message
  • Resolved duplicate name issue in Manage Favorite (case sensitivity)

OnePlaceMail

  • Copy Attachment to SharePoint – now works for all Office 2016 installations after an Office update has been don

  • Custom Column Mapping URL & Test Link – can now be used in the settings window

OnePlaceDocs

  • Resolves issue when Saving Files to SharePoint from Office Applications - if changes have been made to the open file and user performs a Save to SharePoint, the changes are only committed to the copy that is saved to SharePoint (the existing file does not get the changes saved to it)
